Shropshire Sings was a fantastic celebration of music, bringing together more than 1,100 children from 36 schools across the county for three unforgettable evenings of song.

Held from Monday 8 June to Wednesday 10 June at the West Mids Showground, the festival showcased the incredible enthusiasm and talent of young singers from right across Shropshire. Audiences of more than 500 at each event enjoyed a lively programme packed with well-known hits, including Jess Glynne’s Hold My Hand, Wonderwall by Oasis and Miley Cyrus’s Flowers. The jam-packed programme of well-known songs ended with the anthem ‘Shropshire Sing’, newly composed by Shropshire Music Service’s Lead Teacher for Performance and Events, Karen Kirkland.
The Shropshire Sings choirs were supported by a live band (pictured below) featuring staff from Shropshire Music Service. Domenica Porrett and Elaine Buckland MBE conducted the 300+ strong choirs.

With glorious sunshine throughout and a wonderful festival atmosphere, Shropshire Sings was a joyful occasion for performers, schools, families and supporters alike.
