Cleobury Residential Weekend

Updated: Nov 25, 2021

We are over the moon to announce the return of our residential orchestral weekend at Cleobury Mortimer!

Open to all students and instruments, this course will run from 28th - 30th January 2022. The closing date for enrolment is 30th November 2021.

Cleobury is an annual event in the Music Service calendar, where students of all ages and ability levels come together for three days and, under the guidance of our teachers and course leaders, create exciting performances from scratch!

It's a fast paced, fun filled weekend which combines large-group music making with outdoor activities and social time. Many long friendships have begun at Cleobury, and it's a unique opportunity to mix with the wider SMS cohort.

There are three courses available:

  • Beginner Orchestra (up to Grade 2 standard)

  • Main Orchestra (Grade 3 - 5 standard)

  • Chamber Group Course (Grade 6+ standard)

The course takes place at the Pioneer Centre, Cleobury Mortimer, which is a well-equipped activity centre for groups of up to 300.

The cost of the weekend is £150 per student, payable in two instalments. Help with funding may be available if financial circumstances are a barrier to participation - please speak to us.

This price includes:

  • Accommodation

  • Food

  • Tuition

  • Outdoor activities
