As spring approaches and the new term gets well underway, we are announcing our latest selection of workshops which will augment the School of Music this year. Workshops will usually run as a short series and culminate in a performance of some kind.
Originating from Scotland and Ireland in the late 1800s, Ceilidh is a lively and fun traditional dance band, led by a 'caller' who teaches dances to the audience and directs them to the music! This workshop is open to violin and viola students of grade 3 standard and above.
The Spring series runs as follows:
22nd January (1:30pm-4:30pm)
12th February (1:30pm-4:30pm)
19th March (1:30pm-4:30pm)
2nd April (rehearsal 5:30pm, concert 7:00pm)
The first three rehearsals take place at SMS Centre, Bayston Hill with the final rehearsal and concert held at Shrewsbury Baptist Church.
Following this, the Summer series runs as follows:
14th May (1:30pm-4:30pm)
11th June (1:30pm-4:30pm)
25th June (Shrewsbury Square performance)
2nd July (Ludlow Fringe Festival performance)
9th July (Social performance, venue TBC)
The first two rehearsals take place at SMS Centre, Bayston Hill.
