As spring approaches and the new term gets well underway, we are announcing our latest selection of workshops which will augment the School of Music this year. Workshops will usually run as a short series and culminate in a performance of some kind.
This series of workshops will run over four Saturdays in the Spring term. Originating from Scotland and Ireland in the late 1800s, Ceilidh is a lively and fun traditional dance band, led by a 'caller' who teaches dances to the audience and directs them to the music!
Open to violin and viola students of grade 2 standard and above, this series starts on 22nd January, with other sessions taking place on 12th February, 19th March and culminating in a concert on 2nd April. The first three rehearsals take place at SMS Centre, Bayston Hill with the final rehearsal and concert held at Shrewsbury Baptist Church.
Sessions run from 1:30pm - 4:30pm, apart from 2nd April, when the rehearsal starts at 5:30pm and the concert follows at 7:00pm.
The Spring series costs £45 and payment should be made to the Music Service in advance. Those experiencing financial hardship may be offered help with costs, please call 01743 874145 for a confidential conversation.
